Undergraduate Opportunities

The Institute of Arts and Humanities has created a number of ventures designed to expose undergraduate students at UC San Diego to the many exciting opportunities studies in the Arts and Humanities can provide on and off campus. We offer a unique fellowship that allows students to curate their own exhibits using rare art and archival material. We foster and promote innovative pedagogy through our “Breaking Out of the Classroom” grants that have allowed students to sail on Spanish galleons or to record the life stories of local San Diegans. The Institute of Arts and Humanities has partnered with the Academic Internship Program to help Arts & Humanities majors find educational opportunities off campus at locations places museums and community centers. We also work with career services to guide students towards careers that will best take advantage of the skills they have honed in their majors at UC San Diego.
